This week Nies Homes wants to recognize Marty Bean, who is the project manager for the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway home. He was literally the first one at the ground breaking ceremony and hasn’t slowed down since, as we move past ground breaking to the foundation stage.

When asked his feelings as he attended the October 27 ground breaking ceremony, Marty says, “I am really excited to be a part of all of this and honored to be overseeing this project for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.”

Back in the 90s, a former employee of Marty’s had a son with cancer in his eye. The eye needed to be removed and was replaced with a glass one. Marty says he remembers how everything was payed for, including hospital fees, travel, everything. “It was amazing,” he says.

You’ll be able to reserve your ticket beginning in March, 2016 with the giveaway on May 25, 2016. All proceeds from the ticket sells will go back to helping the doctors and scientists at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in their search to find cures and treatments for childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Ground Breaking Kicks Off Kansas’ First Ever St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway

This week has been a big step for Nies Homes as we hosted the ground breaking ceremony to officially kick off Kansas’ first St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway house. It’s been many long months of planning. And we are honored to have been chosen to build this custom home to show our support for the doctors and scientists at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as they find cures for childhood cancers and other life-threatening diseases.

We can’t put into words the feelings we had as we watched the ground break amid the cheers and whistles from our trade partners and vendors. Being a part of the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway and supporting St. Jude has become life-changing for all of us. And it wouldn’t be possible without the support from the the Cities of Derby and Wichita plus the outpouring of support from our trade partners, subcontractors and vendors. For that we are truly thankful.

First Ever St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway in Kansas

Nies Homes is proud to announce we have partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and is Wichita’s builder for the 2016 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. Since it’s creation in 1991, the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway has given away more than 394 homes and has raised more than $320 million to help save the lives of children fighting cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
